The former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa on Sunday, condoled with his successor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on the death of his Nephew, on Saturday, Dr Bello Magatakarda Wamakko.
Bafarawa was accompanied on the condolence visit by a notable delegation of political associates, family members and aides.
He was received by Wamakko himself and former Sokoto State Deputy Governor and Executive Secretary, Police Trust Fund, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, among others .
Special prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased were also offered, led by the Chief Imam of Uthman Bin Affan Jumaat Mosque, Gawon Nama, Sokoto, Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal.
Bafarawa and Wamakko have been emeshed in a long political rivalry in Sokoto, since after they parted ways in 2006.
Wamakko was Bafarawa’s deputy when the latter was the Governor of the state, between 1999-2006.
It always amazes people in the state when such rare encounter happen by the duo political rivals.
